Suede shoes are among the hippest and most versatile shoes today. However, all of this comes at a cost – it’s prone to scratches, dirt, and stains. Anyone who owns a pair knows how difficult it is to clean these shoes. Here are two simple ways you can clean your suede shoes and keep them as “fresh” as possible.
Remove scratch marks and dirt
- Take a special suede brush on your dry shoes and brush it gently to remove any dirt that may be present.
- To remove the scratch marks, you need to brush them a little.
- If there are scrubs that are too difficult to remove, try lifting the nap with a knife.
- For more stubborn marks, use an eraser or crepe rubber. There are also suede radars for this.
Remove water stains
- First dampen the entire outer part of the shoe with a light coating of water.
- Drain excess water from suede shoes with a dry cloth or sponge.
- Put shoes and paper inside.
- Let the shoes dry in a dry and ventilated place for at least 10 to 12 hours.
- Once dry, scrub them lightly with a suede brush to keep the original look.
Just a little extra effort is required to keep your suede shoes in good condition. If you do this correctly, you will get results that are worthwhile.
