You need to seal the suede

This can be done by using a protective spray that is readily available in many stores. You just need to offer a thin application of the sealant to make sure your boots will repel the dust. Sealing the suede also prevents the boots from being stained.

Let the suede breathe

Most shoes can easily be stored in plastic containers. This is not the case with suede shoes. You must be exposed to the air. If you store boots in closets, make sure you store them in cotton pillow cases. This allows air to circulate and also prevents dust from accumulating.

Have corn flour or talcum powder ready

In any case where you spill liquid on your boots, wipe the area with a clean cloth and immediately cover it with powdered or cornmeal. Let it rest for a night. You can then use a suede brush to gently remove the powder.
